Mortality vs. Immortality

Here is a topic we do not chat about much on this channel – mortality and immortality.

Truth is, I don’t like to speak about death.

I do not like to plow into the netherworld.

I am not a ‘demons and dragons and dungeons’ kind of guy.

I’m an optimist – a cockeyed optimist at that!

I love to live for – Life!

I love to speak into how to rebirth things that have withered and died – mostly unnatural and/or untimely deaths.

But on this day, we discuss – mortality.

Mortality means all of us, sooner or later, die

Mortality means that life is then, futile for humans – for indeed there is an end spot.

There is an “X” out there somewhere, it is marked and carved and etched, ‘in stone’.

This “X” is both irrefutable and then, unavoidable.

Speaking about this topic brings this ‘fire and brimstone’ kind of red, hot-lava into our minds. We seek immortality. We seek indulgences. We seek exceptions to every rule.

In this case, we are but common.

Christ Jesus is the lone and stationary exception to this rule – that death finds all.

Christ Jesus is borne of immortal essence.

His being resides not in the temporal, and/or the natural or even in the cosmic.

His being resides inside of the welcome truth, that Christ exists outside of time, space and all things human.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus left—exited the immortal – and took on the stinky robe of human flesh.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus shed his cloak of immortality for the greater good not of himself, but of you and I to redeem poor sinners – like you and like me.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus bled and died a sinners’ death – not for his own cause, but for our cause.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus died – did not swoon or faint, nor fade – but died a human, mortal death on that cruel Cross.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus then was laid in a tomb – where his body was interned for three full days.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus then – through the immortal power of God – which is the essence that he himself once possessed – was raised from this place and state of death.

It is true, and a verifiable fact, that Christ Jesus then walked amongst his contemporaries and ascended into heaven on or about the 40th day post his resurrection.

Death and mortality, then where are your sting?

Death and mortality, then what are your essence?
